Are you passionate about workforce development in aviation, maritime, and rail? The Queensland Trucking Association (QTA), Queensland’s peak road freight industry body, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to deliver the Industry Skills and Jobs Advisor (ISJA) Program for these vital sectors. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) fixed term role until December 2027.
This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic change, build industry partnerships, and contribute to Queensland’s landmark skills strategy. You’ll work closely with employers, small businesses, and industry leaders to ensure Queensland’s workforce is ready for the future.
About the Role
- Lead stakeholder engagement across aviation, maritime, and rail, building strategic partnerships with employers, small businesses, and industry bodies.
- Establish and manage industry reference groups to provide evidence-based advice to government and drive workforce development initiatives.
- Deliver high-level analysis of skills gaps, workforce trends, and training needs, preparing strategic advice and reports for key stakeholders.
- Champion innovative workforce strategies and support the implementation of government training initiatives.
- Collaborate with the full-time ISJA Project Manager for Road Transport and Warehousing to ensure program alignment and success.
- Enjoy flexibility – work from Brisbane or a remote location, with travel across Queensland as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to develop and implement annual work plans.
- Understanding of the transport and logistics sector, or a passion to learn.
- Excellent written communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategic advice.
- Confident presenter, able to facilitate webinars and industry events.
- Attitude and adaptability are valued – we’ll train you on the specifics!
