About the role:
The Disability Team Leader oversees and leads the delivery of high-quality, person-centred disability supports across SIL, Community Access, and In-Home Services. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with NDIS standards and legislation, while driving outcomes that reflect participant choice, control, and individual goals. Reporting to and supporting the General Manager, Allied Health and Disability, the Team Leader oversees staff, operations, and service growth, working collaboratively across programs to provide integrated, trauma-informed supports. The role promotes continuous improvement, employee development, and strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring services align with DCC’s vision, values, and commitment to inclusive, strengths-based practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering SIL, Community Access, and In-Home Supports, including recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and ensuring compliance with licensing and certifications. Manage rostering, timesheet submissions and resources to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure high-quality, person-centred service delivery aligned with participant goals, choice, and control, while maintaining compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies. Support continuous improvement and alignment with DCC’s values.
Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, carers, and stakeholders, while fostering collaboration across programs and maintaining effective community networks. Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to identify and support growth opportunities.
Provide Level 2 support coordination, including engaging appropriate services and working with Support Coordinators to maximise NDIS funding.
Oversee incident and complaint management, reporting of restrictive practices, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies in line with NDIS requirements. Promote and maintain trauma-informed, safe, and inclusive environments.
Draft and manage documentation such as service agreements, safety plans, risk assessments, and rosters of care, using allied health and behaviour support information to guide support planning.
Work closely with Residential Care Teams to co-develop safety plans, provide training and resources to enhance understanding of disability diagnoses, and promote strengths-based, inclusive language and practice.
Perform other reasonable ad hoc tasks as required to support effective service delivery and organisational outcomes

Requirements/Qualifications:
Occasional travel to other DCC locations as needed
A tertiary qualification in Disability, Communities Services or relevant is ideal
Experienced in managing disability or community services, with a strong knowledge of NDIS framework and disability legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act.
Demonstrated experience working within a NDIS environment including clear understanding of; NDIS plans, core and capacity supports, pricing arrangements, service agreements, code of conduct, NDIS registration and the role of the quality and safeguards commission.
A natural leader who inspires, supports their team and promotes growth and sustainability.
Organised, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
LCS check or able to obtain
Working with Children Check (Blue card) and NDIS Working Screening Check (Yellow Card) or able to obtain
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Valid Australian driver’s license
National Police check or able to obtain
