About us
We're on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We're one of Australia's largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria's population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services.

Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you'll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.

We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.

The Role
Ready to lead complex projects from start to finish? We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Mechanical and Electrical Projects team. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering projects that not only meet deadlines and budgets but also satisfy our customer, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

You'll ensure our management systems are robust and effective, delivering high-quality water, sewer, and treatment plant M&E projects on time and on budget. We need someone who is proactive and can effectively manage every stage, from design through to final commissioning.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of M&E projects, aligning with YVW's policies, procedures, and priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive project management plans, including project audit plans.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, providing accurate and timely status and financial reports.
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, delivery partners, government departments, and the public.
  • Review project designs and provide expert commentary.
  • Initiate audit observations and corrective actions to ensure high standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of team procedures and practices.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to manage and close out M&E hazards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all project partners and customers.

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
  • A valid Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card).
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in project management, contract management, and tendering procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and their practical application.
  • Proven experience in managing the design and construction of mechanical and electrical projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a track record of effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An understanding of water supply and sewer systems.
  • General knowledge of Construction and Maintenance Contracts.
