GPS Electrical is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Project Manager to take ownership of industrial and hazardous area electrical projects.

GPS Electrical Services is an industrial-based electrical contracting company delivering projects across diverse industrial and infrastructure sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, transport, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and other process-driven industries.

What you’ll be doing

Overseeing the full project lifecycle – from tendering, design, procurement, and delivery through to completion.

Preparing bids, quotations, and project offers in collaboration with the sales and design teams.

Managing project budgets, schedules, risk, and compliance while reporting on P&L to the management team.

Coordinating electrical designs, quality checking, and supporting the team with hands-on technical expertise.

Leading site labour management, subcontractors, and contractors to deliver projects on time and to high standards.

Ensuring compliance with safety processes (risk assessments, SWMS).

Using job management software including Simpro and Microsoft Office.

Submitting monthly progress claims and variation quotations.

Acting as a positive mentor for electrical workers and supporting professional growth.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience managing hazardous area projects, including dossier management, rectification, design/selection, and installation.

Strong knowledge of LV switchboards, distribution boards, panel boards, control panels, and MCCs.

Familiarity with AS61439 Switchboard design and working knowledge of AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS61439, AS:60079.

Electrical trade background (preferred).

Project Management qualifications (advantageous).

Minimum 2+ years’ experience in electrical project management roles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and cross-functional teams.

Hands-on mindset with strong organisational skills and a commitment to safety, quality, and profitability.
