Position Title: APS4 Procurement Officer
Employment Type: Approx. 12-month contract with potential to extend
Location: Canberra
Hourly Pay Rate: $52.53 – $55.51 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Working Arrangements: Full-time, hybrid work arrangements may be available
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an APS4 Procurement Officer to provide vital procurement and contract management support within a regulatory environment. This role is key in coordinating and administering contracts with external evaluators, while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation and internal processes.
The position is suited to someone who thrives in a detail-oriented role, enjoys building relationships with stakeholders, and can adapt to competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and manage external evaluator consultancy contracts.
- Undertake procurement activities in line with the PGPA Act 2013.
- Support the procurement process across the branch, including workflow tracking and reporting.
- Maintain internal registers, trackers, and external-facing SharePoint sites.
- Manage the general inbox and provide timely responses to queries.
- Liaise with internal staff and delegates on submissions and evaluation timeframes.
- Prepare procurement reports using SAP and contribute to financial management activities.
- Provide ad-hoc advice to staff on procurement and contract management processes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative and procurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to complete allocated tasks under general direction.
- Experience implementing and tracking workflows and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
- Flexible and adaptable to undertake additional tasks when required.
Desirable:
- Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and the PGPA Act 2013.
- Experience with databases, reporting, and SAP.
- Experience working within tight timeframes and managing competing priorities.
