Senior OT Networks Officer
Location: Yennora Works Centre (Hybrid – Tues & Thurs in office)
Rate: $800 – $1,000 per day + Super
Duration: 6 months (possible extension)
About the role
Transport for NSW is seeking two Senior OT Networks Officers to join the OT Network team on a 6-month contract. This is a key opportunity to work across both BAU and project activities, supporting a critical state-wide
Operational Technology (OT) network that underpins public-facing services.
You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing complex network environments, working with Cisco, Palo Alto, and other leading technologies to ensure secure and reliable service delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide BAU support and deliver project network works across NSW OT environments
- Monitor and maintain performance of state-wide OT networks, ensuring high availability
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent incidents and outages, including participation in on-call roster
- Contribute to performance monitoring, upgrades, capacity planning, and service availability
- Maintain documentation, configurations, and compliance with standards (ISO27001, IEC62443)
- Liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers to achieve outcomes
About you We’re looking for experienced network professionals who can work independently in a high-pressure, 24/7 environment.
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in network engineering roles
- Strong Cisco networking expertise (MPLS, VXLAN, NVPLS, EVPN)
- Experience with Palo Alto Network Firewalls and Cisco SDWAN
- Knowledge of Cisco CallManager and VoIP services
- Familiarity with F5 and Cloud (AWS, Azure) highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call roster

What’s on offer
- Daily rate: $800 – $1,000 (casual, inclusive of super)
- 6-month contract with possible extension
- Hybrid working: 2 days in the Yennora office (Tues & Thurs) + WFH
