About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Media Officer to join a high-performing communications team for NSW Government Client. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful initiatives that directly shape public engagement and organisational reputation.
You’ll play a pivotal role in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating communication strategies that build trust and create a favourable view of the organisation, its services, and its role within the community.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage and deliver media and communications strategies in a fast-paced environment.
• Work closely with your manager and internal/external stakeholders to ensure clear, timely and engaging communications.
• Provide proactive and reactive media support, including press materials, responses, and campaigns.
• Contribute to emergency management and operational communication when required.
• Evaluate outcomes and recommend continuous improvements in media and communications.

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Media, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience in media and communications within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong writing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
• Experience in emergency or operational media management will be highly regarded.
• Collaborative, team-focused, and culturally aligned.

What’s on offer

• Daily rate: $600–$750 + super.
• Contract through until December with potential extension.
• Flexible hybrid model (Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office)
