Kitchen Officer

Location: Hobart
Contract length: 1+ months
Hourly rate: $45 per hour + super
15 hours per week - Wednesday to Friday 9am - 2pm

About the Role

Coordinate daily kitchen operations and food service for the community program.

Supervise and roster volunteer kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.

Plan menus collaboratively with volunteers and manage food orders efficiently.

Maintain kitchen stock and equipment, ensuring everything is accounted for and in good working order.

Ensure strict food safety and WHS compliance is maintained at all times.

Support catering for events and programs as required.

Essential Competencies & Certifications

To be considered for this role, you must hold and provide evidence of the following:

An appropriate Certificate level qualification

Practical experience in kitchen management, OR an appropriate Certificate level qualification and practical experience in the community sector.

Experience working with and supporting older people in a community setting.

Skilled in coordinating volunteers and managing all aspects of kitchen operations.

Strong communication, teamwork, and basic admin/computer skills.

Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

Valid Driver Licence.
