Bi-Rite Home Appliances is a proudly Australian, independently owned group, delivering top-tier electrical and appliance solutions to communities across the country. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a strategic, commercially astute Category Manager to join our dynamic head office team.

This is more than just a buying role — it’s a high-impact opportunity to lead end-to-end category development, supplier engagement, and promotional strategy for a nationally recognised retail brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our new Category Manager, you’ll:

Develop and execute data-driven strategies that grow category performance, profitability, and market share.

Build strong, value-focused partnerships with core suppliers — negotiating trading terms, marketing support, and exclusive deals.

Collaborate with marketing, store owners, and leadership to deliver winning retail offers and promotions.

Monitor product lifecycles and trends to shape core ranging and promotional activity.

Lead joint business planning initiatives and work closely with the COO/CEO on strategic supplier relationships.

Support and engage our store network, helping members maximise their sales potential.

Stay ahead of the competition through pricing analysis and market insights.

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.

Proactive, organised, and results-driven.

Able to work cross-functionally and autonomously.

Experience

Background in category management, buying, or planning — ideally within retail or FMCG.

Proven experience working with suppliers and negotiating commercial outcomes.

Experience with ERP systems and Excel-based analysis.

Exposure to promotional planning and campaign execution.

Retail or store-level experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

A degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field is preferred — but not essential if you have strong experience.
