Key Responsibilities:
TUV Safety
Perform Machinery & Process Safety, Risk Assessments conforming to AS4024 and International Standards
Perform Machinery & Process Safety, (SRS) Safety Requirement Specifications conforming to AS4024 and International Standards
Perform Machinery & Process Safety Architecture Designs & programming conforming to AS4024 and International Standards
Perform Machinery & Process Safety Verification & Validations conforming to AS4024 and International Standards
Developing machine safety architectures and safety plans to ensure compliance with AS4024.1.
Financial
Report to the Management Team on safety related project progress and forecasts
Assist in delivering safety projects, on time and within budget
Project Management
Hold joint responsibility for project outcomes including but not limited to:
Ensuring our TUV safety projects comply to any regulatory requirements
Ensure adherence to all the relevant instructions and standards of MSA
Provide solutions or referral to solve basic client issues effectively
Deliver exceptional client service with a planned, organized approach with high attention to detail
Seeks to understand different customer requirements to tailor specific customer outcomes
System electrical design including suitability of installation to AS4024 and relevant international ISO & IEC standards, and the machinery directive.
Sales & Strategic Direction
Assist management in generating safety related leads.
Assist management in all aspects of the machine & process safety lifecycle, this includes the pre-PO sales venture.
Support Management in implementing the company’s strategy and direction.
Design
Design Safety-Related Control Systems (SRP/CS) and Safety Architectures:
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as AS 4024 (Australian Standard for Machinery Safety), ISO 13849 (Safety of Machinery - Safety-Related Parts of Control Systems), and IEC 62061 (Safety of Machinery - Functional Safety of Safety-Related Electrical, Electronic and Programmable Electronic Control Systems), and all other relevant standards associated with Machine and Process safety.
Safety Concept Development:
Develop safety concepts and strategies based on the findings of hazard and risk assessments to mitigate identified risks.
Define safety functions and requirements for the SRP/CS and safety architectures, ensuring alignment with AS 4024 and relevant ISO/IEC standards.
Integration with Engineering Teams:
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate safety features into the design of machinery, control systems, and automation solutions.
Provide guidance on the selection and implementation of safety components, ensuring compatibility with AS 4024, ISO 13849, and IEC 62061 requirements.
Specification of Safety Components:
Specify safety components and devices, including safety sensors, interlocks, emergency stop systems, and safety PLCs, based on the safety requirements identified during the design phase.
Select safety-rated components that comply with relevant standards and have the necessary performance levels to achieve the required safety integrity levels (SIL).
Validation and Verification:
Conduct validation and verification activities to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of safety systems.
Perform functional testing, fault injection testing, and reliability analysis to verify compliance with AS 4024, ISO 13849, and IEC 62061 requirements.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Other
Excellent knowledge of company products and services and how these are used by customers.
Min 10 Years relevant Industrial Automation & Machine Safety Industry expertise
TUV certification, CMSE, CFSE or equivalent.
May be required to undergo regular security checks, including a criminal history check
Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
