We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Officer to join our team at our well-established Serviced Apartment Hotel. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and ongoing upkeep of the property, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for our residents, tenants and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the hotel remains fully compliant with essential services legislation, and all relevant Fire, Lift & Safety regulations

Complete routine inspections and servicing of plant and equipment, including boilers, HVAC, and hot water systems

Lead the preventative maintenance program and oversee all maintenance operations, including contractor coordination and budget control

Perform general handyman tasks including painting, patching, minor plumbing and repair tasks

Manage the upkeep of all back-of-house facilities

Assist with fire safety compliance and emergency lighting testing

Maintain the hotel’s Building Management System (BMS) and monitor essential services performance

Support pool and spa maintenance, including water testing and chemical dosing

Monitor and report faults, breakdowns, or hazards and follow up on repairs

Liaise with external contractors and ensure work is completed to required standards

Assist in the implementation and documentation of OH&S policies and compliance requirements

What We're Looking For

A relevant trade qualification (e.g., electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or general building maintenance) is essential

A minimum of 3 years previous experience in a Hotel Engineer or Maintenance Manager role within a 4 or 5-star hotel, serviced apartment hotel, or residential facility

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently

A flexible, proactive approach to tasks and a high attention to detail

A sound understanding of essential services compliance, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance programs

Good communication skills and a guest-focused attitude

Availability to assist with after-hours callouts if required
