As Australia’s largest government-owned electricity organisation, we serve people and communities across the state and beyond. Here, you’ll help us deliver reliable energy solutions for our two million customers.
Join us as our next Energy Specialist and amplify your impact. We currently have multiple permanent, full-time opportunities to join our Customer Service Centre in Rockhampton.

Using our Kraken technology, you’ll maintain accurate records and deliver positive, seamless, compliant end-to-end service that meets customer needs and regulatory requirements.
Drawing on your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of energy regulations and policies, you’ll be a natural at interpreting data, making quick, informed decisions on your feet, and helping customers confidently navigate their energy usage and payment options.
You’ll be scheduled to work on a varying roster from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Below are the roster options available:
- Permanent, full-time – 9-day fortnight – 36 hours per week

The recruitment process:
We’ll stay in touch with you via email throughout the entire process, so please keep an eye on your inbox (and check junk/spam/clutter folders just in case).
The process is expected to take roughly 8 weeks, taking us into early November 2025.
Here’s what to expect:
1. Apply online: Submit your application through our careers site (instructions below). We’ll review applications while the ad is live.
2. Online skills assessment: If you progress to the next stage, you’ll receive an email invitation to complete a short online skills assessment. This will come from our provider, Vervoe, and you’ll have 4 days (96 hours) from the time the invitation is sent to complete it.
Please note: We won’t communicate outcomes from the skills assessment stage until assessments from all candidates have been completed and reviewed. If you apply early, there may be a longer wait before hearing back, as we’ll need to allow time for later applicants to complete their assessments before final decisions are made.
3. Panel interview: Successful candidates from the assessment will be invited to a virtual panel interview via Microsoft Teams. Interviews are currently scheduled to take place between Monday, 20 October 2025 and Friday, 24 October 2025.
4. Final checks and offer: We’ll conduct reference checks before making a verbal and formal offer. The official commencement date is Monday, 17 November 2025, which marks the start of the mandatory training period.
