About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ampol Townsville: 2IC Assistant Manager to join our team at our store in Townsville, Queensland. As the 2IC Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy retail fuel and convenience store. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the success of a dynamic organisation.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Store Manager in the overall management and leadership of the store team

Ensuring exceptional customer service and a positive shopping experience for our customers

Overseeing staff scheduling, training, and performance management

Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, ordering, and merchandising

Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

Actively contributing to the achievement of sales and profitability targets

Providing hands-on support in all aspects of store operations as needed

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a retail management or assistant manager role, preferably within the fuel and convenience store industry

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent customer service orientation and a commitment to delivering a great shopping experience

Proficient in cash handling, inventory management, and data analysis

A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

A flexible approach to working hours, including the ability to work weekends and public holidays
