The Armidale Waldorf School has an exciting opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our Administration team.
Closing Date: 5pm Sunday, 12th October
Salary: Attractive salary in-line with Industry Standards.
Position Overview
Our School Receptionist is the warm welcoming face at the heart of our school. You will be the central point of contact for students, staff, and families and the person who keeps things moving and knows how to get things done. From managing student attendance and first aid, to handling enquiries, coordinating messages, and keeping daily operations running smoothly, this role requires someone who is calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident in juggling priorities. You’ll bring clear communication, attention to detail, and a warm, professional presence to our school.
Working Hours: The School Receptionist role is required from 830am to 4pm Monday-Friday during school term time. Availability during term breaks is advantageous.

The Armidale Waldorf School (TAWS) is an independent school nestled in a beautiful bushland setting approximately 5mins from Armidale Town Centre. We offer Steiner Education and NESA-approved curriculum for playgroup through to Year 12.

Receptionist responsibilities
· Create exceptional first impressions through greeting visitors, students and families with warmth and helpful outlook.
· Maintain a beautiful and welcoming reception area.
· Respond to and assist with requests and questions from visitors, students, parents and staff. Always ensuring timely and professional correspondence in a friendly and flexible manner.
· Manage student attendance records, ensuring adherence to school compliance requirements.
· Administer first aid to students.
· Work with the wider administration team and school principal to ensure accurate school compliance and record management.
· Order and manage school materials such as stationary, craft supplies, uniforms, sundry items etc.
· Confidently manage IT equipment such as computers, printers and projectors, and troubleshoot where needed.
· Support school events and celebrations, including taking an active interest in the school community.
Selection Criteria:
Experience and Skills
Experience working with MS Office including excel and word.
Proven experience to learn new systems and procedures. Previous CRM or school information system experience (e.g. Zunia) is advantageous.
Capacity to support the maintenance of accurate student records, databases and files in compliance with NESA requirements.
A creative and ‘can-do’ outlook with an ability to suggest improvements.
Desirable
An interest in Steiner/Waldorf Education or commitment to learn more.
Personal values aligned with caring for the environment and others.
Experience in customer service.
Experience in administration, reception, OFM or similar roles.

Requirement:
As a requirement of this role you will need to hold a Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate. These can be obtained after application, if not already held.
