Assistant Director

Location: ACT, TAS, SA, VIC, NSW, QLD

Rates: $687 - $754 a day inclusive of Super

Help shape impactful veteran-focused policies by joining a high-performing team in a dynamic government environment. This is your opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting veteran health and wellbeing initiatives, including programs such as psychiatric assistance dogs and responses to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. You’ll work with a committed policy and project team driving important national priorities.

Key Duties

• Lead and manage policy development projects with minimal supervision
• Build and maintain relationships with state and territory stakeholders
• Provide secretariat support to a key inter-jurisdictional committee
• Draft high-quality briefings, reports, and correspondence for senior stakeholders

Key Criteria

• Proven experience in government policy development and analysis
• Strong written communication skills, including briefings and papers
• Demonstrated experience with committee secretariat functions
• Effective stakeholder engagement and project coordination skills
