We are seeking an experienced Senior Virtual Platform Specialist to join a high-performing ICT team delivering enterprise-level virtual infrastructure services. This role is critical to supporting and optimising VMware and Microsoft virtual environments, ensuring the stability, scalability, and resilience of core government systems.

• Duration: 12 months | Possible extension
• Rate: $130–$180/hr + super (PAYG/ABN options)

What You’ll Do

• Provide advanced support for VMware ESXi (6.5+), vCenter (7.x+), NSX-T, vRO, vROps, SRM, HCX, VCF, and related VMware products.
• Manage Hyper-V 2016+ and System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM).
• Support HPE and Dell server hardware (blade enclosures, chassis, fabric modules, RACADM, OME).
• Troubleshoot and maintain Windows Server (2012R2–2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, SCOM, clustering.
• Produce platform design documentation, utilisation reports, licensing analysis, and capacity forecasts.
• Provide input into enterprise architecture, ITSM processes, and strategic platform direction.
• Liaise with stakeholders to capture requirements and recommend enhancements.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years’ experience supporting and designing enterprise VMware/Hyper-V environments.
• Strong background in PowerShell scripting / PowerCLI integration.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, AWS VMC, or Azure AVS (highly desirable).
• ITIL knowledge/certification (advantageous).
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.

Requirements

• AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (must hold or be able to obtain).
• National Police Check required.
• Current driver’s licence.
