About the role:
Are you a detail-driven, energetic professional ready to bring innovation and enthusiasm to your next challenge? The City of Belmont is seeking a Rates Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service to our vibrant community.

As part of our Corporate & Governance Division, you’ll play a key role in maintaining vital property and rating systems, supporting pensioner rebates, and liaising with customers and agencies to ensure smooth operations. This is your chance to contribute to a team that values integrity, innovation, teamwork, leadership, and people focus.

What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with a supportive team to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Maintain and update property databases with precision and care.

Support the levy of interim rates and issue notices.

Administer pensioner/senior applications and calculate rebates.

Liaise with ratepayers and debt collection agencies with professionalism and empathy.

Provide top-tier customer service.

About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a background in Rates and have great communication, conflict resolution and time management skills.

You will bring a positive attitude and good work ethic to the role. Your proactive mindset and a passion for finding efficiencies in systems and processes will be well regarded.

The ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups is essential to ensure the delivery of high-level customer service.

You will be well versed in a wide range of systems from the Microsoft Suite to Enterprise systems and databases.

Essential Selection Criteria

Previous relevant experience in a Rating environment.

Well developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with a wide range of people and groups to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service.
