We are seeking a passionate and experienced Open Employment Advisor to join our team in Keysborough. You’ll play a key role in empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to reach their employment goals, supporting their transition from supported roles in a Social Enterprise to open employment opportunities.
The position is full-time on a 9-month fixed term contract.
Work pattern: Monday - Friday 7:54am – 4pm
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with job coaches to assess suitable participants for transition
Identify and work with the strengths of each participant
Implement customised employment practices tailored to individual needs
Liaise and communicate with potential employers to understand their employment needs
Provide on-the-job support and training to participants
Liaise with families and natural supports of the participants
Provide ongoing support to participants throughout the employment process, including job retention and career development.
Requirements
Experience working with diverse populations and individuals with barriers to employment
Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Understanding of intellectual disabilities
Proven ability to generate work experience leads resulting in sustainable open employment outcomes for clients
Excellent administration, written communication skills and computer literacy
Excellent communication skills; ability to prevent and resolve issues and to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
Strong networking skills with the proven ability to support the development of new initiatives
Ability to handle confidential information and maintain client privacy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Right to work in Australia
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Full Victorian driver licence & own car
