The position provides a courteous, efficient and quality service to Golden Plains Shire Council’s customers, consultants, residents and stakeholders and provides prompt and effective administrative support to the Environment and Open Spaces Department.

This role will provide you the opportunity to:

Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the Environment and Open Spaces Department, with a strong focus on waste administration, including meeting coordination, document preparation, data entry, meeting and event agenda preparation, minute taking and record keeping.

Monitor and record service requests in Council’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, respond to customer queries (both written and verbal), and process applications and payments.

Provide administrative support for Council’s depot operations, including some travel within the Shire to assist with deliveries and re-stock of supplies, small plant register and records management and meeting coordination.

Provide support to Council’s Open Space Co-ordinator, Senior Arborist and Open Space Infrastructure Officer in the administration of open space maintenance, including the Splash Park, tree management and playgrounds.

Experience in providing high quality administrative support services, with strong attention to detail and customer focus.

Well developed written, literacy and numeracy skills and proficient in the use of relevant software (MS Office Suite, Outlook).

Proficient in recording accurate meeting minutes.

An ability and willingness to learn and seek professional development opportunities.

Ability to work independently to proactively to progress tasks, collaboratively and on time.
