The Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, a flagship of the multi-billion-dollar Future Drought Fund, is one of eight national Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs. The Hub is a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen the drought resilience of our agricultural industries, regional businesses, and communities, empowering stakeholders to co-design and implement practical, research-driven solutions to drought challenges. The SQNNSW Hub is headquartered in Toowoomba with nodes in Stanthorpe, Roma, Longreach, Lismore, Armidale, Narrabri and South-East Queensland.
We are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Officer to join our team and help drive the success of this nationally significant initiative. You will be part of a passionate team working to make a real difference in regional Australia. What You’ll Do
As the Operations Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the SQNNSW Innovation Hub. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-level administrative and operational support to the Hub Director and the Hub team.
- Coordinating Federal Government reporting, including progress reports and financial statements.
- Supporting contract and compliance management in collaboration with UniSQ’s Office of Research.
- Managing internal communications, procurement, travel, and records in line with UniSQ policies.
- Assisting with the development of communication materials and event coordination.
- Providing administrative support to the Hub committees and working groups, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up.
What Will Help You Succeed
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with subsequent work experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
- Proven experience in administrative and operational support, ideally in a research setting.
- Strong skills in report writing, database management, and executive support.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

Term: Part-time fixed-term appointment to 30 June 2026 (30 hrs/week)
Salary: Total remuneration range $90,466 to $97,978 pa (includes salary range of $76,294 to $82,629 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
