The Role:
While the role and requirements of being an accountant for clients using Xero is nothing new, the services we deliver are unique and have a profound impact on our clients’ lives.

While you will be familiar with the day to day of preparing journal entries, financial statements and the preparation of tax returns for trusts and individuals, the accounting and tax requirements for our clients will be new to you. We do not deal with GST, FBT, Division 7A or provide business advisory services.

We deal with the puzzle of individuals, discretionary spending, care, accommodation, managed investments and share portfolios, to meet the ATO, Centrelink and tribunal reporting requirements. Our systems are well defined and the workflow has a rhythm and is consistent, with each client having their own pattern.

The Opportunity:
In this role you will have the opportunity to become the specialist of tomorrow, to expand your knowledge in accounting for special disability trusts, testamentary trusts, tribunal reporting and deceased estates. This role can also be your gateway to becoming a partner in your own firm.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preparation of special purpose financial statements for trusts.

· Preparation of income tax returns for trusts and individuals.

· Preparation of tribunal reporting for financial matter appointments.

· Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies as required.

You will have:

· Solid accounting experience in public practice in Australia

· Bachelor degree in accounting or relevant field

· CA/CPA/IPA qualification or near completion

· Proficient in using Xero and Microsoft Office

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Attention to detail with an organised and methodical approach to tasks

· Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship

· An eye to the future
