St Johns Park Bowling Club is a leading employer in the hospitality industry in South-Western Sydney.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance division as a Payroll Officer on a Part-time 4 days a week basis.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to grow their skills in Payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end payroll weekly for approximately 300 employees. Ensuring accuracy, compliance and all payments are paid on time.
Assist CFO with the preparation of payroll related documents or investigations e.g. Centrelink separation certificates, audits and surveys.
Interpret and apply relevant Modern Award, and Enterprise Agreements with a strong focus on Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.
Maintain accurate payroll records including leave accruals, superannuation, and taxation obligations.
Manage employee payroll queries and provide timely, solutions-focused responses.
Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, including STP, PAYG, superannuation, deductions and other employee entitlements.
Support audits and continuous improvement of payroll processes.
Standalone role collaborating with HR, Finance, Rosters, and Management to ensure seamless payroll compliance.
Work with systems and ensure accurate application of incentives and allowances.
Stay up to date with payroll legislation, taxation changes, and regulatory developments.
What we are looking for (skills and experience).
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Payroll specialist role or similar.
Demonstrated experience to efficiently and accurately process the end-to-end payroll function, including processing wages (timesheet, higher duties, backpay), STP, Superannuation.
Tertiary qualifications preferred.
Experience with range of systems and databases. Experience with Clubline payroll system preferred.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft excels.
Prior experience in the preparation of a large/complex payroll service, including the interpretation and administration of employment legislation.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide and report accurate information.
