About the role
Clarence Valley Council is looking for a Payroll Officer with high attention to detail, the ability to interpret the Local Government Award and who can manage and prioritize competing deadlines.
The role is responsible for ensuring seamless, efficient and accurate end to end payroll functions to ensure legislative requirements are met by providing a high level of service to management and staff.
To be considered for this position you will need to:
• Address the essential requirements of the role as per position description
• Supply relevant certificates and licences
• Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
• Target questions - answer the target questions - maximum 300 words each question
Q1. Give an example of a situation where you have had to interpret and apply the award, what steps did you take? What was the outcome?
Q2. Give and example of how you handle pressure and tight deadlines?

Other important information
This position is located at Council's Grafton Office however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
A probation period applies to this position.
