An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior WHS Advisor to coordinate safety functions across the South Coast Region, Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Branch and work with health and safety practitioners across TMR to support the delivery of the divisional model for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS). The role has a focus on monitoring external principal contractors and their health and safety performance on projects where TMR is the client, by providing expert contractor safety assurance advice and support to project and contract managers in PDO. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities required:
• Practical understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, codes and standards.
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety management systems, practices and functions.
• Well developed written and oral communication skills
• Well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organisation skills
• Ability to work within strict deadlines
• Well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Suite and publishing software
Desirable qualifications and conditions:
• University degree or other tertiary qualification/equivalent qualification in work health and safety or contract management.
• Experience in contractor safety assurance practices in the civil construction industry, including client surveillance activities, analysis of contractor documentation, monitoring of contractor performance during delivery and coaching others in the field of health and safety.
• Experience in incident investigation in the civil construction industry.
