JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Network and Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both Windows and Linux systems administration, as well as proficiency in database and Microsoft 365 administration. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure, security protocols, and the ability to manage and optimize complex IT environments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND JOB TASKS:

Windows Server Administration:

Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.

Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and user access controls.

Oversee patch management, updates, and security configurations.

Perform regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Linux Server Administration:

Install, configure, and maintain various Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu).

Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.

Oversee software installations, updates, and security configurations.

Perform regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Database Administration:

Manage and maintain SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.

Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups and updates.

Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Microsoft 365 Administration:

Administer and support Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.

Implement and manage security policies, user access, and data compliance.

Network Infrastructure:

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.

Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

Security Management:

Implement and manage security measures to protect systems, networks, and data.

Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation activities to mitigate risks.

Virtualization and Cloud Services:

Manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) to optimize resource utilization and scalability.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and business continuity.

Perform regular testing and updates to ensure readiness in case of an incident.

Automation and Scripting:

Utilize automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline administrative tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.

Mentorship and Leadership:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Lead and participate in projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.

Senior Administration Duties:

Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance productivity and performance.

Coordinate with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.

Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders.

PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.

Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Experience with database administration (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.

In-depth understanding of network infrastructure and security protocols.

Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud services.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
