About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The focus of IUIH Aged Care team is to work with the local Indigenous community and relevant key stakeholders to increase access to comprehensive care and provide well- coordinated, quality in home care services to eligible aged care clients.

About the Role?
This position plays a key role in an innovative pilot program delivering culturally safe, person-centred aged care assessment services to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people operating in one or both Caboolture and Sunshine Coast Aged Care Planning Regions (ACPRs). The role is responsible for providing efficient administrative and communication support to a team of Clinical and Non-Clinical Assessors in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Aged Care Single Assessment System.

We have a full-time temporary role available. Within this role, you will be required to:

  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the Assessment policy and procedure documents which govern the Aged Care Single Assessment System
  • Comply with IUIH’s Standard Operating Procedures for the Pilot.
  • Provide professional and empathetic telephone support by applying exceptional etiquette and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Effectively use IT systems and databases, including MMEx and My Aged Care, to maintain accurate records and support daily operational activities.
  • Liaising with the Team Leader, ensure rostering and scheduling of assessment services is logistically sound, efficient and effective use of staffing resources.

About You?

  • Preferable Certificate III in Administration or relevant area
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check – required prior to your commencement
  • Current Disability Workers Screening Card (QLD Yellow Card) - required prior to your commencement

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture through either identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island person and/or demonstrated experience of working successfully within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities.
  • Knowledge of current Australian Aged Care System reforms and access, assessment, service delivery arrangements.
