As the Director Policy and Governance, you will provide high level strategic leadership and advice in relation to legislative reform, policy development, stakeholder engagement, governance, and compliance monitoring and implementation.
You will be responsible for initiating, developing and monitoring strategic and operational performance, as well as providing legal and strategic advice to support the Authority’s legislative obligations. This includes management of the Policy and Governance Unit, coordination of complex legal issues, development of governance and risk frameworks, and oversight of communications and stakeholder engagement.
The role also provides secretariat support to the Audit Committee and Board, coordinates legislative review and drafting instructions, manages audit and evaluation processes, and develops policies and procedures to strengthen governance, risk management, business continuity, and accountability.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with demonstrated success managing legal and quasi-legal matters, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships across government, Aboriginal organisations, and industry stakeholders
