About the role

The position sits within the Office of the CEO and reports to the Senior Manager External Relationships & Training. The Office of the CEO drives the functions of Policy, External Relationships and Training, Fundraising and Communications.

The Learning and Development Worker - Carer KaFE is responsible for development and implementation of culturally safe and relevant learning and development opportunities for carers.

This will include facilitating Our Carer For Our Kids (OCFOK) training for prospective VACCA carers and co-designing cultural events and cultural learning opportunities for carers with ACCOs, CSOs and other partners.

About You

  • Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in Learning and Development, training and Adult Education
  • Established networks with ACCOs or demonstrated ability to establish key networks with ACCOs.
  • Experience in working with key stakeholders and working alongside multiple organisations
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills in order to conduct community consultations, and write, design and deliver workshops
  • Experience working in/strong understanding of Out Of Home Care, in particular kinship care and foster care, and the Cultural needs of Aboriginal children in these placement types
  • Proficient in delivering face-to-face training, public speaking and group facilitation
  • Proficient in delivering online training through Zoom and all necessary technical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Power Point, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
