About the role
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join their team as the Head of Co-Curricular Operations. This is a tenured higher duties position with time release of approximately FTE 0.40 held in conjunction with a permanent teaching position. The position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the college's diverse co-curricular program, ensuring students have access to engaging and enriching extra-curricular activities.
Candidates must possess full Australian work rights as sponsorship cannot be provided.
What you'll be doing
Developing and implementing the college's co-curricular strategy, in alignment with the institution's overall objectives
Managing the scheduling, resourcing and administration of a wide range of co-curricular activities, including sports, performing arts and clubs
Allocating and inducting new staff to their co-curricular involvement on arrival at the College.
Allocating students to co-curricular activities and recording student attendance at events and programs
Attending and supporting community and co-curricular events
Support the Heads of Sport in regard to coordination and organisation of House Sports Carnival Days
Promoting and marketing the co-curricular program to students and families to drive participation
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the co-curricular program, and making improvements as needed
Collaborating with other departments to ensure co-curricular activities are integrated with the broader educational experience
Ensuring all co-curricular activities comply with relevant policies, procedures and safety standards
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in a similar co-curricular or extra-curricular management role within the education sector
A minimum of 2-3 years of co-curricular or extra-curricular management experience is required
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders
Excellent people management capabilities, including the ability to recruit, train and motivate a team of activity coordinators
A deep understanding of the importance of co-curricular learning and its role in the holistic development of students
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents and staff
A passion for providing engaging and enriching co-curricular opportunities for students
A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required
Current teaching registration in Tasmania is required at the time of application
