We are seeking Allied Health Professionals-Medicare Mental Health Phone Service (530941). This position is also being advertised as Clinical Nurse Specialists (530941d) and the positions will be filled on merit.

The Role:
- Provide advice and information to callers of the Medicare Mental Health Phone Service (previously known as Head to Health), including consumers, carers and health professionals, about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and supports.
- Complete mental health assessments over the phone using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) and refer individuals to appropriate services according to their identified level of care.
- Provide leadership, secondary consultation, case review and assistance to other clinical and non-clinical team members.
You will need:
- Ability to build rapport to manage sensitive and difficult situations in an empathetic manner.
- Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to improve outcomes for clients, carers, and internal and external stakeholders.

Details of appointment:
2 fixed term full time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
- Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- Working with Vulnerable People Registration
