We’re excited to welcome a Supervisor to join us, stepping into a vital leadership role. You'll work closely with the management team to inspire, guide, and support our Front of House team, helping us deliver memorable, excellent service with warmth and passion at every shift.

About the role

As Assistant Service Lead - Restaurant Supervisor at Taverna', you will play a key role in providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Working closely with the Front of House Managers, you will be responsible for supervising the front-of-house team to ensure smooth and efficient service operations. The role requires knowledge of wine; familiarity with Hellenic wine is an advantage. This full-time position is for our restaurant in Brunswick East.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front-of-house team, including hosting, serving, and wine

Provide exemplary customer service and ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience

Effectively communicate with the kitchen staff to coordinate food service

Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement

Assist with scheduling, workforce planning, and managing payroll for the front-of-house team

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures

Support Management in the implementation of new initiatives and strategies

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar restaurant supervisor or lead role

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities

Proficient in cash handling, inventory management, and data analysis

Thorough understanding of food and beverage operations, as well as liquor licensing regulations

A passion for Greek food, wine & culture (Greek language is a plus)

Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and events.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering high standards
