About the Role

Taverna Kingscliff is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our dynamic kitchen team in one of the Northern Rivers' most iconic beachfront venues. This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who thrives on creativity, precision, and team culture. You'll be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, designing seasonal menus that celebrate local produce, and delivering consistently exceptional dining experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and inspire a tight-knit kitchen team with clear communication and high standards

Design and execute seasonal menus that reflect Taverna's Greek-inspired ethos and coastal setting

Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Manage food and labour costs with a focus on profitability and sustainability

Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction

Uphold a positive, respectful kitchen culture that values initiative and teamwork

Participate in tastings, events, and brand-driven activations

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership role

Previous experience working in hat awarded venues is highly preferred

Proven ability to lead, train, and retain high-performing teams

Strong creative vision and technical skill in seasonal menu development

Solid understanding of kitchen financials and operational efficiency

Calm, confident leadership style with excellent communication skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment without compromising quality

Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position
