An exciting opportunity has become available for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at the Regal Inn as we continue to grow.

Role overview: As the Head Chef, you'll be responsible for leading the kitchen team and managing all aspects of food preparation & service, as well as maintaining high standards of quality, consistency and efficiency.

This is a hands on role requiring strong leadership, creativity and attention to detail and would ideally suit an experienced Head Chef or a rising superstar Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career and culinary journey.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee daily kitchen operations including prep, service & cleaning

Design, cost and update seasonal menus and specials in line with our vision and budget, as well as bringing your own fresh ideas

Leading and motivating your team in a fast paced, high volume environment

Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Manage ordering, par levels, stock control including regular stocktakes as well as invoicing and building and maintaining supplier relationships

Creating and managing kitchen rosters

Work closely with the General Manager on the venue's many functions & events

Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure the workplace is safe and efficient

Foster a positive and professional team culture

Skills & experience:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or a Sous Chef in a high volume venue

Strong leadership and team/time management skills

Menu development, food costing and stock control experience

Proficient computer skills, excel capability, experience with cooking the books would be an advantage

Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management

Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment whilst leading your team

A passion for great food, excellent service and continuos improvment
