We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and professional Full Time or x2 Part Time Medical Receptionist to join our Leading Specialist Surgical practice based at Strathfield Private Hospital.

This position involves the day-to-day administration of a specialist practice. You will be part of a busy and fun medical team comprising of a practice manager, busy specialist surgeon, part-time general practitioners, dietitian and psychologists.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Supporting the Practice Manager with day to day administration of the practice

Scheduling patient consultations

Front desk reception and management of patient clinics

Ensuring medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently

Patient invoicing and receipting

Data collection and maintenance of patient database

Handle incoming and outgoing mail

Scanning and linking patient correspondence, test results etc (paperless practice)

Management of medical software (Genie)

Dictaphone typing, printing and mailing correspondence

Liaising with referring doctors, hospital staff and medical representatives

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:

Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist in a Healthcare practice (minimum 2 years) preferably a Specialist practice.

Computer literacy; experience with Genie/Gentu software desirable

Fast and accurate digital Dictaphone typing skills (60wpm +).

Proven organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks

Effective time management skills

Understanding of medical terminology (desirable)

Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel

Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and liaison skills with a demonstrated commitment to quality customer service

Ability to work unsupervised within a small team or independently to achieve results

High attention to detail

High level of integrity and confidentiality

Excellent English and grammar

Ability to multi-task and think pro-actively
