Sunstate Electrical are highly respected specialists in the maintenance and commissioning of high voltage substations for both utility and private sector customers.

We are a Brisbane based company, delivering high voltage services throughout Queensland, rural Australia and Asia Pacific.

With continued growth in our maintenance and construction outfit, working within distribution networks and mining sectors, we are seeking a qualified electrician to join our team.

The successful candidate must be a fully qualified electrical mechanic with a current Queensland electrical licence and have prior high voltage experience is required.

The role will entail work outside of South East Queensland approximately 160 working days per annum (predominantly Monday to Friday) with all expenses covered (airfares, airport parking, travel time, meals, and accommodation).

The remainder of your time will be spent within South East Queensland.

Full time permanent position based in Brisbane

High earning potential starting from $140,000 excluding superannuation (inc. overtime, LAHA and allowances)

Additional overtime hours available for Weekend work

What you'll be doing:

maintenance and construction works associated with high voltage protections systems, secondary systems, power transformers, primary plant, switchgear, transportable substations and draglines

electrical construction works, earthing, cable trays, transformer and switchgear installation, panel wiring, fault finding and repair on high voltage switchgear and control systems.

Required qualifications:

Electrical Mechanic with a current Queensland Electrical Licence

General Construction Induction course (blue/white card)

Driver Licence

Desirable qualification/experience:

Current CPR and LV rescue training

Proficient at reading electrical drawings and schematics and performing switchboard wiring
