Verified Energy is a Brisbane based company that operates in a variety of sectors including; mining, utilities, general industrial, data centres and rail. We provide specialist power system technical services to a variety of customers across Queensland. Due to contract wins on major rail and transport infrastructure projects in Brisbane we need to expand our team.

We have a strong leadership team and are increasing our presence in the high voltage sector in Queensland. Our point of difference is the high level of technical ability and customer service we provide which has seen demand for our services increase dramatically. We have developed a custom in-house business management and project delivery system that enables us to deliver projects in our sector with a very high level of quality.

We are focusing our business on projects in Brisbane, but we do operate statewide and throughout Australia.

We have an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced High Voltage Engineer or Technician to join our team.

The successful applicant will:

Support our customers maintaining, testing and commissioning switchgear, circuit breaker, protection relays and transformers at voltage levels from LV all the way to HV.

Represent Verified Energy working with a range of customers, including those in the power utilities, rail, infrastructure, mining, data centre and large-scale battery charging environments.

Have the opportunity to be part of a project delivery team in greenfield and brownfield environments.

Be required to do some travel periodically.

The successful applicants’ duties are:

Maintain, assemble, install and conduct routine test on electrical systems to ensure the functionality, safety and compliant – switchgears, circuit breaker, protection relays and transfers at voltage levels from LV all the way to HV

Commission new systems – test and validate the functionality of new installations.

Diagnose and resolve any electrical malfunctions in circuits and systems

Inspect Electrical systems and Prepare reports, charts and tabulations

Estimate material costs and quantities for repairs or new commissions

Provide support to Design Engineers

Represent Verified Energy working with a range of customers, including utilities, rail, infrastructure, mining, data center, and large-scale battery charging environments.

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

A White Card

Demonstrated experience with secondary testing – differential, distance etc on a variety of protection relays (Preferably with Omicron equipment)

Experience in high voltage power systems, generation, electrical maintenance or industrial install environment

Experience with primary testing – transformers, switchgear, instrument transformers

Knowledge of Scada systems, 61850 and Goose messaging

A high attention to detail – you will be testing and inspecting complex power system protection systems which require a very high degree of attention to detail

Have completed or be in the process of completing higher learning in Electrical Engineering with specific focus on power systems. (Bach, AD or Dip etc)

Strong working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand electrical standards

In-depth knowledge of and practical experience with Health Safety & Environment (HSE) practices and legislation

Highly developed technical problem-solving capability complemented by an authentic and passionate customer-centric approach

Excellent communication skills - you build great relationships and are comfortable in a customer-facing role often on the project delivery team.
