Title: Community and Commercial Activations Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $85745.17 to $99650.39 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Sports and Recreation Business Unit promotes equitable access to spaces and services that support healthy, active and connected living for residents and visitors. It oversees bookings for Council’s open spaces and allocations for organised sport, as well as the management of the Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre and the Warringah Aquatic Centre. These centres offer a range of services including learn-to-swim programs, fitness classes, lap swimming and a squads programme.
With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, the Unit works closely with sporting clubs and associations to identify local recreation and sporting needs and facilitate activities that meet those needs. Collaboration with local and regional groups ensures fair and sustainable access for the community.

Responsibilities:
• Assess and manage open space booking requests, ensuring activities are safe, appropriate, and compliant with legislation and Council policies.
• Respond to enquiries, prepare booking contracts, and provide a timely, high-quality service.
• Coordinate venue requirements, arranging services and approvals (e.g. lifeguards, keys, waste management and line marking).
• Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and prompt issue resolution.

1) Bring open spaces to life by coordinating events and activities across key locations sportsgrounds, parks, beaches, and regional venues like Manly Oval and JJ Melbourne Hills
2) Balance business and community by managing commercial activities such as surf schools, food trucks and markets.
3) Be part of the Open Space Bookings team, making a real difference through exceptional service and the sustainable management of Council’s open spaces
