Role overview

You will drive several strategically important initiatives for Osteopathy Australia, across our university, student and early career projects. You are a diligent professional with skills in community development/engagement, project coordination and clear communication.

Summary

You will be a creative, proactive, and relationship-driven person that helps shape how Osteopathy Australia connects with our student communities, universities and early career health professionals. You will help bring our story to life through relationships, communications, memorable events, and digital content that reflects our values.

The role combines stakeholder engagement, content coordination, event delivery, and digital communications including social media.
We are looking for someone who is not only skilled but also passionate about health, student wellbeing and engagement — someone who thrives on building relationships and telling meaningful stories.

Role details

This is either one full time role OR potentially job-share for two suitable part-time employees, under a two-year contract position, with the possibility of further extension. The role is based in Chatswood, NSW under a hybrid model in the office and working-from-home, or remote for applicants located in Melbourne.

Our office is located within a short walk of public transport options and a variety of food and shopping selections. Other benefits include access to an on-site gym, pool, and sauna.

Your qualifications

Preferably you have qualifications in a relevant discipline such as healthcare, community development or education; however, experience with student or community engagement will also be considered.

Essential skills and experience

Organisation and Project Management

Self-driven with the ability to work independently, while still engaging and collaborating with the broader team. You demonstrate excellence in proactive problem solving and taking the initiative.

Proven planning and project management skills. The ability to handle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail.

Analytical thinking – the ability to identify and analyse situations and/or issues and consider options.

Good computer, administrative and organisational skills.

Resilience. The ability to handle difficult situations or change with maturity.

Teamwork

Ability to collaborate in a team environment, particularly when projects are shared across portfolios.

Ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

Adaptability and flexibility to work in dynamic environments.

Community Development & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with university stakeholders, academics and staff to foster relationships and projects in collaboration with Osteopathy Australia.

Confident public speaker and ability to develop and present information in engaging ways.

Experience building and maintaining individual, community or stakeholder relationships, including with higher education providers.

Experience working with committees or working groups. Ability to provide administrative and secretariat support to committees or working groups.

Understanding universities, study and student processes, including positive and negative aspects impacting students’ lives and flow on in early career.

Serve as the primary point of contact for student inquiries, addressing concerns and providing accurate information with a friendly and supportive demeanor.

Assist students with navigating university systems, offering guidance, support and referral when needed.

Event Management

Working with the team, plan and deliver stakeholder events, from concept through to logistics and execution, such as O-weeks, student events or workshops

Manage stakeholders, logistics, invitations, RSVPs, run sheets and post-event follow-ups

Liaise with speakers, venues, suppliers, and external partners to deliver high-quality experiences

Coordinate student and alumni participation in events where appropriate

Build relationships and collect information to guide appropriate events of different groups and evaluate what works and what does not.

Communications and Brand Development

Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop resources, articles, and/or present information.

Work with the communications team on brand, website, socials and engagement to ensure consistency across channels.

Coordinate and provide input on e-newsletters, articles, resources and digital content across platforms

Support the development and rollout of the student or early career content, socials or other communication or engagement strategies

Develop compelling case studies, and campaign assets for core target groups

Desirable skills and experience

Experience in student environments, particularly universities.

Knowledge of relevant education policies, regulations, and best practices.

Familiarity with the Australian education system and regulatory standards (e.g. TEQSA, ASQA).

Experience in not-for-profit or member associations.

Understanding of osteopathy or manual therapy healthcare.

Experience in healthcare, allied health or primary care.

Conditions of employment

Citizenship, residency, or full visa rights to work full-time, longer-term in Australia.

Willingness to complete a National Criminal History Check

Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance

Willingness to travel and current Driver's License

Willingness to occasionally work outside business hours and occasional weekends.

Participation in performance appraisal.
