Excavator and Plant Operators - Drainage

About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected family-owned business with a strong reputation in civil works, is seeking skilled Leading Hand Drainers, Drainers and Excavator Operators to join their team on a major infrastructure project in Port Hedland, WA.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical drainage works while working with a company that values safety, quality, and the local community.

Project Details

• Scope: Pit and Pipe Installation – Car Dumper Drainage
• Location: Port Hedland, WA
• Duration: Approx 3 months
• Roster: FIFO 2 weeks on / 1 week off (2&1), 11-hour shifts
• Accommodation provided
• Start Date: Targeting October 10, 2025

Roles & Pay Rates

• Excavator Operators (3 roles): $62.14 – $69.05 per hour
• General Plant Operators (4 roles): $57.31 - $61.14 per hour
• Drainage Labourer (3 roles) $50.29 - $55.24 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Install stormwater drainage systems, pits and piping
• Interpret and work from plans and drawings
• Supervise and assist with trench excavation and pipe installation

What We’re Looking For - Experience & Skills

• Excavators (trenching and placement)
• Loaders, Tippers, Skid Steers, Rollers

• Proven experience in drainage, sewer and stormwater installation
• Strong understanding of pipe bedding, laying and alignment (pipe laying qualification highly regarded)
• Skilled in heavy machinery operations, including:
• Competent with laser levels for accurate grade and level installation
• Experience installing precast concrete units (manholes, pits, etc)

Tickets & Licenses

• Excavator Operator - Excavator/ Loader/ HR/ Crane (CN)
• General Plant Operator - Loader/ HR/ Watercart/ Rollert
• Drainage Labourer - Dogman

Mobilisation & Onboarding

• BHP Inductions required (company can assist if not held)
• Full medical to be arranged and booked by the company
• Mobilisation timeframe: typically 2–4 weeks, but may be as quick as 1 week
