About Us:

Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, who’s work championed social justice, mental health support, and innovative youth services. Today, the Foundation continues his legacy, delivering frontline services and community support across NSW, ACT & QLD. With over 200 staff and 350 volunteers, we remain deeply committed to helping young people affected by issues related to drugs, crime, and mental health.

Managing rosters and ensuring that volunteers have the tools they need

Ensuring our shops deliver outstanding value in sync with their local communities needs

Enhancing the Noffs brand and mission through improvements to customer service

Delivering improved profitability in a highly competitive market

Oversee and review goods for sale in the shops

Work closely within the broader op shop team to coordinate the pick-up and delivery of donated goods

Represent the Noffs Shop team and brand through your passion for all things preloved and second-hand, and encourage the same within the team

Ensure adherence to Noffs Code of Conduct, Policies & Procedures and workplace health and safety regulations.

Essential Selection Criteria

Experience in volunteer management, project delivery and a sound understanding of retail operations

A “can do” proactive attitude and positive team spirit

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to manage competing priorities, tasks and overall expectations

Ability to foster effective and harmonious working relationships with staff, management, volunteers, customers and members of the community

Sound business skills including the ability to develop and report against KPIs and budgets

Successful candidates must have a current and valid NSW Working With Children Check prior to commencing employment and full NSW Driver’s License essential.

Desirable Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in op shop management in the community sector

Ability to develop and leverage partnerships with corporate organisations

Sound financial management practice including the ability to develop and report against budgets

If you're looking for work that’s meaningful, dynamic, and supports real change—you’ve found the right place! Join our passionate and community-minded Noffs Shops team and help support vital programs for young people in need.

About Ted Noffs Foundation

Caboolture, QLD, Australia

Originally named The Wayside Foundation, Noffs Foundation was founded in 1970 by the great Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs and his wife Margaret Noffs.

During their remarkable careers of pioneering initiatives for young people, the Noffs established Sydney’s first crisis centre in 1968, set up the first Drug Referral Centre in Sydney in 1967, co-founded the Aboriginal Affairs Foundation in 1962 and co-founded Lifeline in 1963.

Ted’s son, Wesley and his wife Amanda Noffs took over the foundation after Ted suffered a stroke. They renamed the organisation, The Ted Noffs Foundation. Wesley and Amanda worked alongside academics to create the country’s first drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre for adolescents known as PALM. The community and government immediately supported the idea and the work of Noffs Foundation spread across Australia.
