About the role
As the Senior Pharmacy Technician Service Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team of support staff, intern pharmacists, and orientating and training pharmacists to ensure a high-quality and efficient pharmacy manufacturing service based at Flinders Medical Centre. Working under the guidance of the Pharmacist responsible for the area, you will coordinate and prioritise workloads, act as the key point of contact for staff and service users, and oversee practice reviews and staff development. This position also carries responsibility for ensuring compliance with workplace policies and procedures, while managing a large and diverse workload that demands both leadership and advanced technical knowledge.
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will contribute to the wider success of SA Pharmacy by actively representing the department on hospital and organisational committees, as well as supporting Pharmacy Managers to deliver safe, effective, and cost-efficient drug therapy for patients. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with pharmacists and colleagues across the service, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and patient-centred care.
About You
You will be a motivated and skilled professional with a Certificate IV or higher, bringing strong leadership, technical expertise, and extensive hospital pharmacy experience. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous learning while ensuring safe, high-quality service delivery.
Leadership & Communication – Demonstrated experience in supervising teams, mentoring staff, and communicating effectively across diverse cultural and professional groups.
Technical & Clinical Knowledge – Proficient in pharmacy management systems, dispensing methods, pharmaceutical products, and applying PBS and GMP requirements.
Organisation & Problem-Solving – Strong time management, report writing, and gap analysis skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving workplace needs and drive service improvement.
Practical Skills & Professionalism – Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and physical capability to meet workplace demands, combined with dedication to accuracy, learning, and patient-centred care.
