We’re seeking an experienced and capable Account Manager to manage and grow a well-maintained, loyal commercial book. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys variety, and is looking for stability within a strong and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of SME and mid-market commercial clients (book value ~$600K)
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a trusted advisor on insurance needs
- Ensure timely renewals, endorsements, and mid-term adjustments
- Proactively address client needs and provide tailored recommendations
- Conduct client meetings and annual reviews, ensuring up-to-date risk information
Policy Renewal & Placement
- Collect and assess underwriting information
- Prepare renewal submissions and negotiate competitive terms with insurers
- Finalise documentation and ensure accurate, timely issuance of policy schedules and invoices
- Coordinate closely with broker assistants and offshore processing teams
Claims Handling
- Support clients through the claims process by liaising with the internal WA claims team
- Act as the client’s advocate to ensure a smooth and timely claims outcome
Compliance & Professional Development
- Ensure all client activities comply with industry regulations, legislation, and company standards
- Maintain RG 146 compliance and Tier 1 Broking qualification
- Stay current with market trends, legislative changes, and industry developments
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Insurance Broker or Account Manager
- Solid understanding of SME and mid-market risks across diverse industries
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive client service mindset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with broking systems (e.g. Insight, WinBEAT) and MS Office
- Highly organised, technically proficient, and team-oriented
