This is our first senior HR hire, so you’ll set direction and get hands-on: build our hiring engine (with a focus on early talent), lift culture, implement the right systems, and coach leaders. About the role
Reporting to the Executive Team, you’ll establish and lead People & Culture across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, learning, engagement, wellbeing, and ER/IR compliance across four states. You’ll design simple, scalable processes supported by the right tools (ATS/HRIS) and build repeatable hiring funnels with a strong focus on early-talent pipelines.
What you’ll lead
· Talent engine: Build scalable hiring systems to hit growth targets, with emphasis on early-talent pipelines (employer brand, social, referrals).
· Culture & engagement: Embed values in action, run regular pulses, launch recognition and feedback rituals, and champion wellbeing.
· Performance & capability: Lightweight performance frameworks, manager toolkits, and targeted learning.
· HR foundations: Policies, compliance, award interpretation (with advisors as needed), HRIS selection/implementation, reporting and people analytics.
· Leader coaching: Clear, calm guidance on performance conversations, change, and pragmatic ER matters.
· Process design: Turn manual, cluttered workflows into clean, trackable systems across the employee journey.
About you
· Senior HR generalist (minimum 4 years) with experience building or rebuilding HR in a growing
· SME, proven recruitment marketing and pipeline building results for hard to fill roles and early talent.
· Strength in culture building: engagement design, values embedding, and manager enablement.
· Confident with Australian employment frameworks and practical ER/IR handling.
· Comfortable moving from strategy to execution, set the plan, deliver, measure, and continuously improve.
· A clear communicator who earns trust with technicians, coordinators, and executives alike.
