This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time and Casual, with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31 October 2027.

Position Profile: We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and dynamic individuals for the position of Scientific Officer to join our Tobacco Control Compliance team in the Public Health Regulation Directorate. The Tobacco Control Compliance team is responsible for the administration of the Tobacco Products Control Act 2006 and regulating the sale and supply of tobacco products across Western Australia.

As Scientific Officer you will be responsible for investigating matters and taking appropriate enforcement action, making robust and well-reasoned decisions relating to licence applications, providing recommendations on legislative matters, and assisting with other public health regulation functions. A portion of this role is field based with some regional travel required. Please ensure you refer to the JDF to see if this role is right for you.
