A minimum two years’ experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. However, we will also consider applicants wishing to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate will:
· Carry out the smooth and efficient running of the service as appropriate
· Adhere to the cleaning schedule
· Understand the functional administration of the restaurant, i.e., docket procedures, stations, table numbers, food labelling etc
· Have in depth Knowledge of the full menu, and able to give a detailed description of dish composition
· Work as part of the wider restaurant team
· Comply with legal requirements under the H&S act 1974 and food hygiene
· Escalate maintenance issues to the relevant parties
· Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality
· Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
· Prepare and cook food
· Seasonfood during cooking
· Portion food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
· Store food in temperature-controlled facilities
· Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements
· Assist in planning menus and estimate food requirements
· Assist in training other kitchen staff and apprentices
· Monitor restaurant standards with menu specification
· Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements
· Adhere to the cleaning schedule and take action appropriately
· Ensure the kitchen works efficiently
· Carry out all tasks in a reasonable time frame to ensure the smooth running of the areas
· Comply with food labelling and temperature controls
· Develop the skills within the team
