Position Type: Part time/Full time (6 months fixed term)
Level: 4.1 ($44.58 per hour)

The Organisation
The Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) is a non-government, feminist organisation working to eliminate sexual violence against women, young people, children and men. Our Mission is to be an active, visible catalyst for social change through the provision of high-quality services within a feminist framework.
We provide confidential counselling and practical support for victim survivors of sexual violence and their families who have experienced any form of sexual assault, sexual harassment or childhood sexual abuse.
We arrange immediate crisis appointments and provide a 24-hour crisis callout service through the Forensic & Medical Sexual Assault Care (FAMSAC) and/or Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Team (SACAT) services.
Our Crisis phone support is available from 7am until 11pm, 7 days a week.
Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the office and supporting staff and management with efficient administrative services. This role is responsible for managing enquiries, maintaining records, coordinating meetings, and providing accurate and timely administrative support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries, ensuring timely responses and appropriate referral to staff.
Maintain and organise office supplies, stationery, and shared spaces.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
Maintain accurate and confidential organisational data in line with privacy and confidentiality policies.
Assist with reporting requirements by collating data and preparing simple spreadsheets or summaries.
Support compliance with organisational policies, including WWVP checks, induction records, and training registers.
Manage scheduling, coordination, and administration of organisational meetings, including:
Preparing and distributing agendas.
Taking accurate minutes and ensuring timely distribution.
Monitoring follow-up actions and circulating reminders.
Assist with preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain organisational calendars, meeting schedules, and room bookings.
Support internal training sessions and staff development activities.
Provide general administrative support to the Senior Management team and other staff as required.

Desirable
Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
Experience working in a not-for-profit organisation.
Knowledge of compliance and reporting processes.
Special Conditions
This is a woman-only position under s 34 (1) of the Discrimination ACT (1991) and is a genuine occupational qualification for the position.
Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) ACT (2011) legislation requires that the preferred applicant will be required to hold a current and valid “Working with Vulnerable People' registration as proof of suitable employment screening and background checks.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration (or related field), or equivalent experience.
Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration (ACT).
Current Driver’s Licence.
