Your new role
Looking for a role that brings you home every night and lets you make a real impact in your community?
We’re looking for a hands-on team leader with strong experience in plumbing, drainage, or pipelaying projects to lead a dedicated crew responsible for maintaining and upgrading the region’s water and wastewater infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll lead a multi disciplined construction crew responsible for delivering essential maintenance and capital works projects – including the construction and refurbishment of new and existing infrastructure. Your day-to-day will involve leading a multi disciplined construction team on-site to control all aspects of the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, predominantly in the area of water and sewer main construction. This role will also include planning and organising jobs, conducting maintenance and testing of water and sewer mains (including hydrants, valves and fittings) and ensuring all work meets Fitzroy River Water’s high standards.
If you’re looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to be a part of something meaningful – we’d love to hear from you.
Whilst a trade qualification is desirable, it is not an essential requirement if you do possess the relevant experience in pipelaying and/or civil construction.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Experience in the construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Leadership qualities and supervisory skills with knowledge and experience in leading a construction team to success.

Ability to contribute to and uphold Council's Safety-First culture.
What you'll get in return
As an employee of Rockhampton Regional Council, you will join a diverse and innovative team of more than 1000 employees supported by good leadership, who proudly deliver services and make a difference to the lives of people living and working within the region.
