The Role
The Child and Youth (CY) Team Leader will support team members to achieve and respond to daily practice and process demands, including but not limited to support with reporting, debriefing, purchasing of resources, client follow-up and/or decision making. This role will be responsible for supporting staff sitting across sites in both Redlands and Logan catchments.
The CY Team Leader will maintain a reduced case load as well as support the Director to achieve organisational objectives and performance benchmarks and sustain a culture where excellence, continuous improvement, training, skills development and innovation are priorities.
They will also support the Director and Leadership team to actively promote and drive change using influence and negotiation skills to achieve strategic outcomes to ensure service delivery and funding evidenced based best practice are maintained within client services.
As an effective and empowering leader, the Team Leader will assist the Director to ensure the goals, aspirations and contractual obligations of the team are met and that the service accessibility is maximised for those most at risk.
Key Responsibilities
·Provide leadership support and participate in the development of a safe and supportive working environment for all direct team members, in particular when the Director is not on site or is unavailable.
·Provide regular internal supervision to the child and youth counselling team members including clear communication paths and consultative decision-making practices in line with policy.
·Participate in regular, ongoing consultation with team to discuss issues that may impact performance, including team meetings, team appraisals and informal contact.
·Hold a small case load and deliver evidence-based counselling interventions to children and young people 5-17 years (max 2 sessions per day) or deliver evidence-based counselling if client work is required for accreditation.
·Oversee and coordinate timely allocation of cases, ongoing case work and case closures when safe and appropriate.
·Liaise with the Intake Team Leader to ensure CFW responds, maintains and monitors all referrals of clients internally and from agencies or members being referred into Counselling services across Redlands and Logan regions.
Salary and Benefits
·SCHADS Level 7.1 ($56.13 p/h) | Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) |

·Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Experience and Qualifications
This role requires qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university. This role would also benefit from a postgraduate qualification in counselling, social work, child and youth qualifications or management. It is essential the applicant has demonstrated experience and/or sound knowledge or the ability to acquire evidenced based counselling practices and interventions. The applicant must also have demonstrated experience or knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, and its effect on women, children and the wider community and demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012). It is preferred the applicant has a current membership of professional association – e.g., AASW, PACFA. Also, a demonstrated experience and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and ability to critically reflect on practice, processes and the interplay of self and other team members.
