Chinchilla, the “Melon capital of Australia”, is only 3.5 hours drive to Brisbane. It is a predominantly rural and agricultural area with mining and gas industries contributing to significant growth in the town over the last 10-20 years. It has a Woolworths and Drakes supermarket, a small hospital and three medical practices, gyms and sporting clubs and facilities, multiple pubs and various restaurants and cafes, and opportunities to immerse yourself in a range of activities unique to this country town.

Your Pharmacy Chinchilla is offering rural incentives including accomodation assistance, sponsorship of Intern Training Program of your choice, as well as other training opportunities and conference attendance (up to $20k). Plus, be eligible for incentives of a further $20k for continued work post registration, with opportunities to continue as a registered pharmacist in 2027 in Chinchilla or one of the many other locations across Queensland.

Your role will include a balance of all aspects of rural pharmacy to enhance your growth, including:

- working in the dispensary (with Meditech Robot) assisting in dispensing prescriptions, ordering stock, participating in stock control activities

- working as part of a forward-pharmacy model and assisting patients with medication queries, counselling on new medications, over-the-counter medication requests and general health presentations/queries

- assisting in the provision and implementation of pharmacy programs such as DAAs, Health Promotions, Vaccinations etc

- leading and promoting continuing education by completing relevant CPD, staff training, and participating in community health promotions”

A flexible four day week is on offer to assist with managing studying, workshop and conference attendance, exams, and travel during your intern year.
