Jenner & Co Logistics & Supply Chain recruitment is partnering with one of its repeat clients to source their new Operations Manager in Melbourne.

To be considered for this role you must have

Summary

In this role will be responsible for the safety, equipment, operations, security, labour planning, cost control and profitability of the Melbourne Terminal.

Key responsibilities

Ensure that all work practices and systems are consistent with the Corporate Safety Management System and relevant statutory requirements and ensure the business meets its statutory workplace health and safety obligations by supporting the Corporate Safety Management System

Ensure that all operational compliance requirements are met including, but not limited to; DG regulations, load restraint, Fatigue management, first aid & Chain of Responsibility

Meet with customers both internal and external to proactively resolve any issues while maintaining and developing strong customer relationships

Manage and monitor customer rate pricing and charging

Build and develop mutually beneficial business relationships

Oversee effective load planning and schedules are executed in accordance with group strategy

Responsible for ensuring efficient practices and profitable business levels

Proactively look at ways to continually improve the business and its services

Meet all KPI objectives

Ensure efficient allocation of assets and resources

Allocating and efficiently managing staff, including sub-contractors, according to changing needs

Engage in and actively contribute to Staff Performance Management systems and processes

Ensure effective communication channels are maintained within the business, ensuring relevant groups are up to date with current issues

Working with stakeholders to formulate, develop and implement strategies and business goals to increase volume and margin.

Analyse expenditure and other financial information to develop strategies to increase profits

Develop and meet agreed goals and budgets, ensuring revenue objectives are met

Present financial and business performance data to the State Manager

Contribute to CHEP and LOSCAM Pallet Control
